It's a time when it is technically autumn, but still feels like summer. Sure, I needed a raincoat, but under it I was sweating.Ellie hates the rain, but she loves the river. This morning, though, she largely avoided her usual swim.

beautiful! we won't see autumn colors here until December.
Right now local readers sound disappointed with the colors.
It's still very, very early, and these are scattered spots of color. In two to three weeks we will be living in a riot of orange, red and yellow.
And keep in mind that we pay for the peeping with some six hard months of bitter cold and snow.
